The Body of Christ
We are called the body of Christ because Jesus Christ is our head. Every person is equally important: we are not in competition with each other. We listen to God for our purpose as a body and our part within the body.
Unity and Diversity in the Body
12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by[a] one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
1 Corinthians 12:12-13
The gifting being worked throughout the Body just as God said it would, brings joy.
Unity
We are called to be united in the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us there will be a great falling away.
4 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
1 Timothy 4:1
But we have been knit together into the Body and therefore have the responsibility to encourage and motivate each other.
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
Hebrews 10:24
God is not who we think He is, He is who He says is.
